Pradip is a translational scientist and an entrepreneur. He co-founded Mitra Biotech in 2008, a cancer theranostic company, and guided the company’s scientific platform from inception to clinical validation till his exit in 2019. Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, Pradip was a member of the Faculty of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Boston, a Fellow at Merck Research Laboratories, Boston, and Principal Investigator at OICR, Toronto. His discovery research focused on novel therapeutics in metastatic cancers and rare tumors like primary brain cancer. He made significant contribution to dissecting the role of two major signaling pathways (PI3K/RTK and Notch) on tumor dependency leading to two novel anticancer drugs from early discovery to Phase II clinical studies. Pradip received his Ph.D. in Cancer Pharmacology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, India and held a postdoctoral research fellowship from the Dana Farber Cancer Institute-Boston. He has over 60 research publications in high impact peer reviewed scientific and clinical journals.
